The area of the Chilco showing is underlain by volcaniclastic sandstone, siltstone, and minor limestone of the Upper Triassic Mosely Formation. A thrust fault contact with Cloud Drifter Formation occurs about 1000 metres to the north of the Chilco showing. In this area, the Lower Cretaceous Cloud Drifter Formation consists of sandstone, siltstone, minor conglomerate.
Rock sample X517939 was collected on the north side of Perkins Ridge from a propylitic altered crystal tuff, along the north margin of the limonite colour anomaly. The Chilco showing consists of a quartz-epidote-magnetite vein with abundant sulphide; mainly pyrite with some chalcopyrite and malachite. Sample X517939 from the vein assayed 0.41 per cent copper, 0.68 gram per tonne gold, and 7.5 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 38794).
August 2023 note: The grades for X517939 are given as listed above in Table 8, page 39, and Figures 10 and 11. However the grades are associated with Sample W591793 in the Certificate of Analysis KL19182630, located at UTM 355985E and 5741647N, which is 1000 metres to the northeast of X517939 (see Perkins Peak, 092N 087). The grades for X517939 in the Certificate of Analysis are 0.096 per cent copper, 0.049 gram per tonne gold, and 0.667 gram per tonne silver (see Assessment Report 38794).
