The Silver Switchback showing is located approximately 60 kilometres southwest of Smithers and 10 kilometres west of Burnie Lake.

Regionally, the claims are situated within the Stikine Terrane in the western section of the Intermontaine tectonic belt. The Stikine Terrane is made up of late Paleozoic to early Tertiary volcanic and sedimentary assemblages that have been intruded by plutonic rocks.

Locally, the area is underlain by Lower Jurassic sub-aerial calc-alkaline volcanic pyroclastics and flows of the Telkwa Formation (Hazelton Group). The sequence of volcanics consists of well-bedded tuffs and coarse pyroclastics, which in some areas are intruded by quartz monzonite and related felsic intrusives of the Eocene Nanika Plutonic Suite.

Mineralization consists of pyrite, chalcopyrite, galena, arsenopyrite and some secondary hematite and malachite hosted as disseminations throughout the volcanics and in narrow veins, veinlets and pods along joints and fractures within the volcanics.

In 1994, Angel Jade Mines Ltd. staked the area encompassing the Silver Switchback showing.

In 1995, the property was optioned to Golden Hemlock Exploration Ltd., who conducted an exploration program of geological mapping and rock sampling.

In 2012, Far Resources Ltd. optioned the property from Multiple Metal Resources Ltd. and completed geological mapping and rock and soil sampling. Highlights include rock sample N566238, which assayed 627 grams per tonne silver and 4.39 per cent copper (Assessment Report 33699).
