The New 1-2 (Cliff Zone) occurrence is located on the south side of Noomas Creek, at an approximate elevation of 770 metres.

The area is underlain by volcanics and sediments of the Upper Triassic Karmutsen, Quatsino and Parson Bay formations (Vancouver Group) and by volcanics of the Lower Jurassic Bonanza Group. These rocks have been intruded by granodiorite of the Jurassic Island Plutonic Suite.

Locally, the contact of Quatsino Formation limestone and a 1.4 metre wide felsite dike hosts a 1.3 metre mineralized skarn zone. Mineralization consists of chalcopyrite, sphalerite, pyrite, pyrrhotite, marcasite(?), tetrahedite, galena and minor greenockite with associated garnetite, diopside and actinolite.

In 1999, grab sampling yielding values up to 21 per cent copper, 20.3 per cent zinc and 339 grams per tonne silver (sample 99-NEW-R-2; Assessment Report 26173).

Work History

In 1999, Double Star Resources prospected the area as the New 1-2 claims. In 2019, Ridgeline Exploration Services completed a 454.3 line-kilometre airborne magnetic survey on the area as the Nimpkish (Wolf) property.
