The ENGL occurrence is located on the southern end of the Hankin Range, on steep south-southwest facing slopes overlooking Woodengl Creek.
The area is underlain by carbonates and calcareous sediments of the Upper Triassic Quatsino Formation (Vancouver Group). The Quatsino sediments are in fault contact with the overlying Lower Jurassic Bonanza Group volcanics. Strong, regional north to northwest trending faults traverse the area. Granodiorite of the Nimpkish Batholith, which is part of the Jurassic Island Plutonic Suite, intrudes the older rocks. The contact is located 1.0 kilometre north of the occurrence.
Locally, mineralization consists of sphalerite with local pods of pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite associated with a 1.0 metre wide fault zone. The fault occurs in Bonanza Group pyroclastic rocks which overlie calcareous sediments of the Quatsino Formation. Felsic dikes and sills are common. Sericite, silica and chlorite are present. A silicified quartz vein stockwork, 3 to 5 metres wide, occurs in the hangingwall of the fault and contains sphalerite mineralization.
In 1985, rock sampling yielded values up to 6 grams per tonne silver, 0.466 per cent copper, 4.754 per cent zinc and 0.14 per cent mercury (Assessment Report 13738)
In 1985, Homestake Canada Inc. completed a program of rock and soil sampling on the area as the ENGL claim. In 2005, the area was prospected as the Ravenhill property.
