The AMPLE-GOLDMAX prospect is located on the north side of Cayoosh Creek, immediately north of the confluence of Phair Creek and approximately 1 kilometre east of the Ample (MINFILE 092JNE069) mine. The town of Lillooet, British Columbia, lies 8 kilometres to the northeast.

Regionally, the area is underlain by sedimentary rocks of the Lower Cretaceous Brew Group, part of the Jurassic to Cretaceous Cayoosh Assemblage, and marine sedimentary and volcanic rocks of the Mississippian to Jurassic Bridge River Complex. A shear zone, thought to be related to a regional thrust fault (Cayoosh Creek Thrust Fault), separates argillite and sandstone of the Jurassic to Cretaceous Cayoosh Assemblage from overlying Mississippian to Jurassic Bridge River Complex metasediments and schists. Mineralization along the Cayoosh Creek Fault can be traced for an approximately 3 kilometre length from the Ample-Goldmax prospect westward through the Ample Mine and Wedge showings to the Golden Cache Mine. The Bonanza prospect on the south side of Cayoosh Creek appears to part of the same system.

Locally, erratic mesothermal vein-type mineralization consisting of native gold and minor arsenopyrite and pyrite occurs in a gangue of quartz and carbonate. The quartz veins are up to 8 metres wide and strike 200 degrees, dipping 20 to 30 degrees to the west. Veins are parallel to subparallel to the regional foliation. The veins have been tightly folded locally or may have a sheeted appearance. Aphanitic, sericitized dikes occur within the mineralized zone. The zone has been traced by diamond drilling over approximately 1.5 to 8 metres thick, 50 to 100 metres wide and down plunge to the northeast for 200 metres.

Three other mineralized zones, referred to as the Ruby (B), Red Ledge and C zones, are located at approximately 940 metres elevation downslope to the south, 120 metres upslope and to the north and approximately 1.1 kilometres east of the main zone at an elevation of 440 metres, respectively.

The area has been explored since the late 1890s in conjunction with the nearby Ample (MINFILE 092JNE069) mine. The Ample-Goldmax occurrence was discovered in 1994 by G. Polischuck after finding a quartz boulder on the Duffy Lake highway below. In 1994 and 1995, a program of prospecting and soil sampling was completed. In 1994, a rock sample (126353) assayed 140.0 grams per tonne gold, 7.2 grams per tonne silver, 0.249 per cent copper and 0.838 per cent lead (Property File - G. Polischuk [1994-01-01]: Report on a Prospecting Program on the Ample-Goldmax Group of Mineral Claims).

In 1996, nine diamond drill holes, totaling approximately 1800 metres, tested a 600 by 100 metre gold-in-soil anomaly. In 1997, Homestake Canada Inc. drilled 14 holes, totaling 2728 metres, on the Cougar zone. In 1996 and 1997, diamond drilling yielded up to 11.75 grams per tonne gold over 8 metres in hole 96-7, 11.2 grams per tonne gold over 2.0 metres in hole 96-9 and 31.56 grams per tonne gold over 2.5 metres in hole 97-16 (Property File - Quartz Mountain Resources Inc. [2002-10-15]: Diamond Drill Hole Locations - Ample-Goldmax Property). Also, at this time, sampling of the Ruby (B) zone yielded up to 8 grams per tonne gold over 3 metres, with typical samples from hand trenches and road cuts yielding from 1 to 6 grams per tonne gold over 6 metres (Property File - T. Schroeder [1997-05-05]: Field Report - Ample). Sampling of the Red Ledge zone yielded from 1.3 to 23.5 grams per tonne gold (Property File - Canadian Resources House Ltd. [2004-06-10]: Technical Report - Ample-Goldmax Property).

Drilling in 1998 brought drilling to 21 holes totaling 4200 metres. Gold-Ore Resources Limited optioned the property in 1998 and completed a nine-hole, 907-metre drill program in 1999. This work was primarily on the Cougar zone to the east. In 1999, diamond drilling yielded up to 9.5 grams per tonne gold over 1.5 metres in hole 99-30 and 3.9 grams per tonne gold over 5.9 metres in hole 99-35 (Property File - Quartz Mountain Resources Inc. [2002-10-15]: Diamond Drill Hole Locations - Ample-Goldmax Property). Also, at this time, sampling of hand-dug trenches yielded up to 2700 grams per tonne silver and a continuous chip sample over 0.80 metres assayed 583 grams per tonne silver and 5.3 grams per tonne gold (Property File - Gold-Ore Resources [1999-10-04]: No. 190 (1999) - AMPLE GOLDMAX). The main Ample-Goldmax zone drilled by Homestake (1996-1997) and Gold-Ore Resources (1999) indicates an area up to 100 metres wide and 200 metres long anomalous in gold values in both soils and core samples.

In 2002, Quartz Mountain Resources optioned the Ample-Goldmax property. In 2004, Canadian Resources House acquired the property. In 2007 and 2008, Supreme Resources Ltd. conducted rock sampling and geological reviews on the property and focused drilling efforts on the Ample-Goldmax prospect area. Three samples were collected from the Ample-Goldmax zone yielding up to 4.62 grams per tonne gold over 1 metre (Sample 36061; Getsinger, J.S. (2007-07-24): Technical Report (Revision 2) on the Ample-Goldmax Property). Drill hole AG-08-37 had an intercept of 6.09 metres grading 4.17 grams per tonne gold and drill hole AG-08-39 intersected a near surface 8.53 metres of indicated 5.91 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Reports 29994, 30805).

From 2016 to 2019, owner C. Lynes and American Creek Resources Ltd. ran programs of geological mapping, prospecting and rock and soil sampling in the area, from the Ample mine eastward to the Ample-Goldmax prospect and across the highway to the Bonanza prospect (Assessment Reports 36394, 37718, 39236). In 2022, Stinger Resources Ltd. conducted a program of geological mapping, prospecting and soil sampling along the highway, in the Ample mine area and the Ample-Goldmax and Bonanza prospects (Assessment Report 40590).
