The Bunting-Ferguson occurrence is located east of Freiberg (B. & F.) Creek at an approximate elevation of 1150 metres.
The area is underlain mainly by volcanics and sediments of the Mississippian to Jurassic Bridge River Complex (Group) and Paleozoic to Mesozoic serpentinite ultramafic rocks.
Locally, an altered serpentine shear zone hosts quartz-carbonate veining with minor pyrite and mariposite. Historical sampling of the workings is reported to have assayed up to 4.1 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 16546).
The area was originally explored in the mid 1930’s with the development of a number of pits, trenches and adits. In 1983, a program of soil sampling was completed and the main Anderson adit was accessed for a distance of 30 metres. In 1986 and 1987, Petroflame International Resources completed programs of geochemical sampling on the area. In 2012, Wild West Gold completed a minor program of soil, silt and rock sampling on the area.
