The SOUTHEASTERN occurrence is located on the north side of Marshall Creek, approximately 500 metres northwest of its junction with Brett Creek and 22.5 kilometres east-northeast of Gold Bridge, B.C.
The area is underlain by a sequence of imbricated chert, intermediate volcanics, gabbro, limestone, blueschist and clastic rocks of the Bridge River Complex ranging in age from Permian to Jurassic, which are intruded by felsic dikes and numerous dikes of serpentinite and their altered equivalents.
Locally, a series of parallel red oxide bearing shears host gold mineralization.
The area was originally staked in 1987 and preliminary exploration programs by Caldera Resources Ltd. consisting of geological mapping, soil and rock sampling, ground geophysical surveys and trenching were completed in 1991. In 1991, sampling of the Southeastern shear zones assayed 3.7 grams per tonne gold over 1.4 metres and up to 16.42 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 21841).
Similar exploration work by Gray Rock Resources Ltd. commencing in 1995, identified two anomalous zones, known as the Western and Southeastern zones. From 2005 to 2007, Gray Rock Resources completed programs of prospecting and ten diamond drill holes, totaling 1759.06 metres, on the Silver Stream property. Three of the holes, totaling 512.32 metres, were completed on the Southeastern occurrence. In 2007, DDH SS-07-07 intersected three approximately one metre sections in breccia and fault gouge zones assaying 1 to 2 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 29474). Gray Rock's 2012 program consisted of a geological evaluation with rock geochemical sampling. A grab sample from a north trending oxidized shear zone returned 1.06 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 33490).
