The SBGB14 occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 1650 metres on an east-facing slope between Laluwissin and North Laluwissin creeks, approximately 6 kilometres southwest of Murray Peak.
The area is underlain by andesitic rocks of the Lower Cretaceous Pimainus Formation (Spences Bridge Group) and dioritic to granodioritic intrusive rocks of the Permian to Triassic Mount Lytton Complex.
Locally, an andesite hosts massive quartz vein(s) with trace pyrite and gold values.
Work History
In 2019, Talisker Resources Ltd. completed a regionally extensive program of prospecting, geological mapping and geochemical (rock and silt) sampling on the area as the Spences Bridge Gold project. Three rock samples (C0009619, C0009634 and C0009898) from the occurrence area yielded 7.34, 1.78 and 1.52 grams per tonne gold, respectively (Assessment Report 38749).
