The Mag West occurrence is located near a south- flowing tributary of Laluwissin Creek, at an elevation of approximately 1200 metres.
The area is underlain by andesitic rocks of the Lower Cretaceous Pimainus Formation (Spences Bridge Group).
Locally, quartz-carbonate veins with limonite host malachite mineralization. In 2006, a grab sample (53802) assayed 0.298 per cent copper and 2.9 grams per tonne silver, while two more samples (53805, 53806), taken up slope to the north east, assayed 0.176 and 0.112 per cent copper, respectively (Assessment Report 28166).
In 2006, Midland Recording Services completed a program of geochemical sampling, geological mapping and prospecting on the area as the Mag claims. In 2007, Strongbow Explorations completed a program of geochemical sampling and airborne geophysical surveys on the area.
