The Highway North occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 900 metres, adjacent to the Coquihalla Highway and approximately 2.7 kilometres west of Iron Mountain.
Regionally, the area is underlain by undivided volcanic rocks of the Western Volcanic Facies of the Upper Triassic Nicola Group.
Locally, a zone of mineralization, located along the Coquihalla Highway, comprises a siliceous, epidote-limonite altered tuff with quartz veining. Later reports, in 2015 and 2018, describe a 150- by 50-metre zone of altered andesite, basalt and rhyolite hosting quartz veins or vugs with pyrite, chalcopyrite and malachite.
In 1986, samples (STR-86-10R and -11R) yielded 0.29 and 0.41 gram per tonne gold, respectively (Assessment Report 16058).
In 2015, a grab sample (COQ-4) assayed 1.80 per cent copper and 0.321 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 35356).
In 2018, two grab samples (NSC-5 and -7) yielded 0.380 and 0.927 gram per tonne gold with 32.1 and 324 grams per tonne silver, respectively (Assessment Report 37528).
