The occurrence is located on a ridge east of Lochore Creek, at an elevation of 772 metres.
The area is underlain by diorite and quartz diorite of the Triassic Mount Lytton Complex and by volcanics and volcaniclastics of the Middle and Upper Cretaceous Spences Bridge Group. Quartz-feldspar porphyry dikes intrude all rock types.
Locally, a northwest trending zone of iron-carbonate breccia, hosted in andesitic rocks and intruded by a dioritic stock, hosts malachite and azurite mineralization. In 2011, a rock sample (MG-14R) assayed 0.597 per cent copper (Assessment Report 32728).
During 2006 through 2014, Atocha Resources completed programs of prospecting, geological mapping, geochemical sampling and minor trenching on the area as the McGillivray property.
