The Genesis 5 occurrence is located on the western slopes of Cornwall Creek, approximately 9 kilometres southwest of the community of Cache Creek.

The area is underlain by a long, relatively narrow, northwesterly trending belt of volcanics and sediments belonging to the Upper Triassic Nicola Group. The majority of the property is underlain by felsic volcanics with interbedded mafic volcanics and minor sediments.

Prospecting over the Genesis property was completed in 1985 on behalf of Samarkand Resources Inc. A rock sample of highly silicified volcanic with chalcopyrite in an area of rhyolite breccia assayed 0.17 per cent copper (Assessment Report 15002).

In 1986 through 1988, Trove Resources completed various geophysical and geochemical surveys on the area.

In 2001, Minerva Minerals conducted stream and rock geochemistry sampling program. In 2006, Sundance Ventures collected four grab samples.
