The area is underlain by a long, relatively narrow, northwesterly trending belt of volcanics and sediments belonging to the Upper Triassic Nicola Group. The majority of the property is underlain by felsic volcanics with interbedded mafic volcanics and minor sediments.

Two subvertical chalcopyrite-bearing 'dikes' strike 358 and 335 degrees respectively, in Carboniferous-Jurassic Cache Creek Complex foliated greywacke near a fault contact with Upper Triassic Nicola Group greenstone. Chalcopyrite is partially altered to malachite. The showing is located near a tributary to Lone Tree Creek.

In 1985 Samarkand conducted a regional prospecting program over the claim group and confirmed the existence of strata favourable to host volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) mineralization. In 2001, Minerva Minerals conducted stream and rock geochemistry sampling program. In 2006, Sundance Ventures collected four grab samples.
