The Orb 2-4 occurrence is located on the south side of Sunday Creek, approximately 500 metres west of the Similkameen River.
The area is underlain by the eastern facies of the Upper Triassic Nicola Group, comprising mafic augite and hornblende porphyritic pyroclastics and flows. These volcanics are intruded by small bodies and dykes of diorite related to the Early Jurassic Copper Mountain stock of the Copper Mountain Intrusions to the north.
Locally, a brecciated andesite graphitic tuff with hairline carbonate stringers and veins of carbonate hosts pyrite and pyrrhotite. Pyrrhotite is also disseminated in the host rock.
In 1982, a drill hole (Orb-3-82) intercepted a mineralized andesite from 9.0 to 12.0 metres depth and yielded 6.24 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 10663). In 1986, a diamond drill hole (RB-2) yielded 18.7 grams per tonne silver from 5.40 metres to 6.45 metres, while another section, from 18.9 to 20.4 metres, yielded 7.8 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 15692).
In 1974, Aquitane Co. completed a program of geological mapping, soil sampling and a 32.0 line-kilometre ground magnetic survey on the area as the CMAG claims. During 1981 through 1986, Emerald Star Mining Explorations completed programs of prospecting, geochemical sampling, ground electromagnetic and magnetic surveys, geological mapping, percussion and diamond drilling on the area as the Orb claims.
