The Ram showing is situated in the headwaters of Cool Creek, 6 kilometres northwest of the Ashnola River and 25 kilometres southwest of Hedley.
Upper Triassic Nicola Group volcanics are intruded by microdiorite-micromonzonite stocks related to the Middle to Late Cretaceous Verde Creek pluton. These stocks are mineralized with disseminated chalcopyrite. Tertiary rhyolite and ignimbrite underlie the southern part of the showing area.
The showing was explored by Amax Potash Ltd. in 1971. Work carried out on the property consisted of geological mapping at a scale of 1":1000' and a geochemical soil and silt survey of 50 samples. In 1991-92, an exploration program consisting of grid establishment, silt sampling, geological mapping, prospecting, magnetometer and VLF-EM surveying was conducted. The program did not locate the original Ram copper showing, however, several areas did give weak geochemical responses for lead and zinc in rock samples and weak to moderate geochemical responses for gold, molybdenum, lead and zinc in silt samples.
