The Walters Ridge (Mike) occurrence is located on a northeast facing slope overlooking the south branch of Siwash Creek, before its junction with Roddick Creek and at an elevation of approximately 1000 metres.
The area is underlain by grey to black, locally organic-rich, pyritic, slaty argillite intercalated with well-bedded siltstone, all assigned to the Early and Middle Jurassic Ladner Group.
Locally, 5 to 8 metre wide, north west- trending and steeply dipping, fuchsite-bearing, listwanite-silica– altered zone in siltstones and tuffaceous siltstone breccias hosts quartz veins with pyrite and arsenopyrite.
In 1998, a rock sample (SW-R05) assayed 2.875 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 25890). In 1999, a rock sample (WR-05) assayed 3.4 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 26116).
During 1996 through 2000, Hillsbar Gold completed a program of geological mapping and rock, silt and soil sampling, two drill holes, totalling 80.0 metres, and a 3.5 line-kilometre ground electromagnetic survey on the area as the Mike claim. Historic workings (pits, trenches and a small adit), probably dating to the early 1900’s, are reported in the area.
