The Genesis 2 occurrence is located on a south west facing slope overlooking the eastern branch of Siwash Creek, at elevation of approximately 1290 metres.
The area is underlain by grey to black, locally organic-rich, pyritic, slaty argillite intercalated with well-bedded siltstone, all assigned to the Early and Middle Jurassic Ladner Group.
Locally, a fault structure and associated shearing, striking 135 to 145 degrees and dipping 25 to 30 degrees north east, host quartz veins with pyrite and chalcopyrite. The mineralized structure is hosted by a shaly argillite.
In 1988, two chip samples (BC-88-5 and BC-88-8) assayed 0.58 and 0.52 gram per tonne gold over 1.0 metre, respectively (Assessment Report 18200).
In 1988, Canarc Resources completed a program of rock and silt sampling on the area as the Genesis 1-2 claims.
