The Vin 16 occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 1480 metres on a west-facing slope, approximately 4.7 kilometres north of Buck Lake.
The area is underlain by basaltic volcanic rocks of the Upper Triassic Nicola Group (Eastern Volcanic Facies), which have been intruded by primarily Upper Triassic to Lower Jurassic granodioritic rocks.
Locally, an oxidized diorite(?) hosts finely disseminated chalcopyrite and bornite with malachite staining.
In 1991, a select outcrop chip sample (VN91-R6) yielded 0.681 per cent copper, whereas float samples (VN91-R8 through -R10) of propylitically altered volcanics with quartz-carbonate stringers hosting variable amounts of bornite, chalcopyrite, malachite and azurite, taken approximately 2.7 kilometres to the north and near Highway 97C, yielded from 0.375 to 0.696 per cent copper with 0.7 to 5.0 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 22259).
Work History
In 1972, Royal Canadian Ventures Ltd. completed a program of geochemical (silt and soil) sampling and a 48.0 line-kilometre ground electromagnetic survey on the area as the WM claims.
During 1986 through 1991, Fairfield Minerals Ltd. completed reconnaissance programs of rock, silt and soil sampling on the area as the Vin 1-19 claims.
During 2012 through 2014, Victory Resources Corp. completed programs of photogeological structural (lineament) analysis and a 5.9 line-kilometre ground electromagnetic survey on the area as the Toni property.
