The Zula 1 occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 1460 metres on a south-southeast–facing slope, west of Summers Creek and approximately 1.8 kilometres southeast of the southeast end of Power Lake.
The area along Summers Creek is underlain by the Eastern volcanic facies of the Upper Triassic Nicola Group, comprising mafic, augite and hornblende porphyritic pyroclastics and flows, and associated alkaline intrusions.
Locally, an outcrop of altered pyritic and mylonitized diorite to granodiorite hosts chalcopyrite mineralization.
In 1991, a sample (3832) assayed 0.878 per cent copper and 3.8 grams per tonne silver, whereas another sample (3845), taken approximately 600 metres southeast of the previous sample, assayed 0.330 per cent copper and 3.3 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 22084).
