The Spud occurrence is located near the west side of Siwash Creek, approximately 1.2 kilometres south of the creek’s junction with Teepee Creek.

The area is underlain by coarse-grained granite of the Middle Jurassic Osprey batholith. The mineralized granite is occasionally brecciated and strongly chloritized and contains pink feldspar phenocrysts.

Locally, a granite hosts pyrite-specularite veins and chalcopyrite-malachite bearing quartz veins.

In 2006, a sample (06RTP223) of chalcopyrite bearing quartz vein material assayed 1.04 grams per tonne gold, 239 grams per tonne silver, 1.8 per cent copper, 1.43 per cent lead and 0.34 per cent zinc (Besserer, D.J. (2007-05-27): Technical report on the precious and base metal potential of the Siwash Creek Property).

The area has been explored in conjunction with the nearby Snowstorm (MINFILE 092HNE032) and Mabel (MINFILE 092HNE028) occurrences and completed exploration history can be found there.
