The Issitz occurrence is located on steep cliffs west of Wolfe Creek, between Issitz and Jackson lakes.

The area is underlain by granodiorite of the Early Jurassic Bromley Batholith.

Locally, alteration zones along the contact between granodiorite or granite and andesite (diabase) dikes hosts gold values. The alteration zones are highly oxidized and contain vugs with pyrite and quartz.

In 1989, six samples (WC 001 to 006) yielded from 0.45 to 19.6 grams per tonne gold and up to 72.5 grams per tonne silver (Property File - T. M. Parsons [1989-01-01]: Property Submission On Jim Kelly Creek, Wolfe Creek And Lone Pine Creek Mineral Claims).

A float sample (WF 020), taken approximately 1.7 kilometres to the southwest from the south side of Jackson Lake, yielded 1.36 per cent copper, 222 grams per tonne silver and 0.34 gram per tonne gold (Property File - T. M. Parsons [1989-01-01]: Property Submission On Jim Kelly Creek, Wolfe Creek And Lone Pine Creek Mineral Claims).

In 1989, T.M. Parsons prospected and sampled the area as the Issitz, D’Arcy, Wolfe 1-2 claims.
