Capsule Geology

The Bullion occurrence is located east of Siwash Creek, approximately 500 metres north of the past- producing Siwash North (MINFILE 092HNE096) mine.

The area is underlain by Upper Triassic volcanics and sediments of the Nicola Group and by Middle Jurassic granites and granodiorites of the Osprey Lake batholith. The contact between these units trends north easterly across the property. Early Tertiary feldspar porphyry stocks and dikes of the Otter intrusions occur throughout the property.

Locally, three quartz veins, up to 6 metres wide and separated by 45 to 50 metres, are mineralized with bands of pyrite with strong sericite alteration. The veins have been traced for 60 metres along strike to the west and 150 metres down dip.

In 2002, a drill hole intercepted a quartz vein and yielded 8.43 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 34382).

In 2004 drilling intercepted 13.66 grams per tonne gold over 0.32 metre (Assessment Report 34382).

In 2012, diamond drilling intercepted two 0.5 metre sections yielding 15.75 and 16.8 grams per tonne gold, respectively. Step out drill holes, from this site, intercepted sections yielding values up to 47.55 grams per tonne gold and 326.5 grams per tonne silver over 0.3 metre (Assessment Report 34382).

Work History

The area has been historically explored in conjunction with the nearby Elk (MINFILE 092HNE096) occurrence. During 1991 through 2000, Fairfield Minerals completed programs of prospecting, geological mapping and geochemical sampling on the area. During 2002 through 2012, Almaden Minerals completed programs of geological mapping, geochemical sampling, ground geophysical surveys and nine diamond drill holes, totalling 1058.2 metres. In 2019, a 1108 line-kilometre airborne magnetometer survey was completed on the Elk Gold property. In late 2020 and early 2021, Gold Mountain Mining Corp. completed 42 diamond drill holes on the Elk Gold property. This work centred on the 2500 zone and adjacent veins of the Siwash North (MINFILE 092HNE096) deposit.
