The B and R showing is 2.75 kilometres northwest of the summit of Mount Thynne and 23.5 kilometres northwest of Tulameen. The Dawn showing (092HNE068) is 750 metres to the southeast.
The occurrence is hosted in a northward trending, steeply dipping sequence of andesitic flows, argillites, tuffs and limestone of the Upper Triassic Nicola Group, immediately southwest of a diorite stock of Late Triassic to Early Jurassic age.
A pit blasted in dark lava (andesite) exposes pyrite and magnetite with minor disseminated chalcopyrite, accompanied by some malachite staining. A grab sample assayed 0.17 gram per tonne gold, 3.4 grams per tonne silver, 0.10 per cent copper and 5.60 per cent iron (Property File - J.P. Elwell, 1964, page 11). A sample of float carrying magnetite, pyrite and a little chalcopyrite, about 60 metres south of the pit assayed 0.34 gram per tonne gold, 17 grams per tonne silver, 0.28 per cent copper and 26.40 per cent iron (J.P. Elwell, 1964, page 12).
In 2007, a highly oxidized sample (5132) from a 12-metre long, 2- to 3-metre wide and up to 1.5 metre deep trench exposing a 7-centimetre wide fracture, striking 324 degrees and dipping 70 degrees southwest , assayed 0.424 gram per tonne gold, 4.6 grams per tonne silver and 0.159 per cent copper (Assessment Report 29816).
Work History
In 1964, Bardale Mining and Development Co. Ltd. completed a program of prospecting, rock sampling and a 52.8 line-kilometre ground magnetic survey on the area as the B and R and Dawn claims.
During 2006 through 2014, Bryan and Egil Livgard completed programs of prospecting, geochemical (silt, soil and rock) sampling and biogeochemical sampling on the area as the George property.
During 2014 through 2018, Tech-X Resources Ltd. completed programs of geological mapping, geochemical (rock, silt and soil) sampling, 29.5 line-kilometres of induced polarization surveys and a 548.9 line-kilometre airborne magnetic survey and on the area as the Thinne and LC claims of the Lawless Creek property.
