The Spruston Road Pit is located 4.8 kilometres west of Highway 1, on Spruston Road.

Screening of crushing to remove oversize abrasive will be necessary for production of winter abrasive.

Technical data: crush % <.075=1; .075-4.75=56; 4.75-25=42; 25-75=1. The product is 12.5 millimetres Winter Abrasive (Sand). Overburden thickness is 0.2 metre of topsoil. Pit run: 2 per cent fines, 56 per cent sand, 26 per cent fine gravel and 16 per cent coarse gravel.
