The Nami 5-7 occurrence is located on the northwest side of Vedder Mountain, approximately 5 kilometres south-southwest of the community of Yarrow.

The area is underlain by coarse clastic sedimentary rocks of the Upper Jurassic Kent Formation. To the north, a sequence of lower amphibolite- to kyanite- grade metamorphic rocks of the Permian Vedder Mountain metamorphic complex are exposed.

Locally, greenstones (serpentinite) host nickel mineralization, probably pentlandite. In 1987, five samples (19-87 through 23-87) yielded from 0.146 to 0.164 per cent nickel (Assessment Report 17031; pg. 38). Previous sampling, in 1986, yielded up to 0.18 gram per tonne gold from a sample (10-86) of greenstone (Assessment Report 15098).

During 1982 through 1988, the area was prospected and sampled as the Nami claims.
