The Vancouver Brick and Tile Company produced common brick from surface clay deposits in Sullivan. The clay was soft, grey to buff in colour, worked well and had good plasticity. The clay was com- prised of 29 per cent water and possessed an average shrinkage char- acteristic of 8.1 per cent. The clay was considered suitable for common brick, hollow tile and drain tile.
