The Port Haney Brick Company Ltd., in Haney, produced building tile, drain tile and flue-lining from local surface clay but no production figures are available.

The grey, non-calcareous surface clay is fine grained, very plastic and hosts 46.2 per cent water. The average shrinkage for the clay when drying was 11.7 per cent. An analysis of the clay yielded 58.5 per cent SiO2, 21.1 per cent Al2O3, 8.6 per cent Fe2O3, 6.5 per cent CaO, 0.5 per cent MgO and ignition loss of 4.8 per cent (Minister of Mines Annual Report 1908, page 186).
