The Earle Creek aggregate pit is located at the mouth of the Skookumchuk Narrows at Earle Creek. The area of the pit is underlain by Late Jurassic dioritic intrusive bedrocks, the surficial deposit consists of natural sand and gravel.

The pit, operated by Lafarge North America, has been in operation since 1971 and produces approximately 1.5 million tonnes of sand and gravel per year.
