Capsule Geology

A zone of quartz veinlets outcrops 1.5 kilometres southeast of the peak of Mount Louie, 3.4 kilometres southeast of Jervis Inlet.

The Mount Louie zone is hosted in a roof pendant of metavol- canics and metasediments of the Lower Cretaceous Gambier Group, within diorite of Cretaceous age of the Jurassic to Tertiary Coast Plutonic Complex. The veinlets are sparsely mineralized with molyb- denite and chalcopyrite. A grab sample of quartz with disseminated molybdenite assayed 0.233 per cent molybdenite and 0.01 per cent copper (Assessment Report 12450, page 3).
