The KF showing is in the north eastern head waters of Winslow Creek, approximately 1 kilometre southwest of Grainger Peak and 19 kilometres northeast of the north end of Stave Lake.

The area is underlain by quartz diorite and porphyritic granodiorite of the Tertiary to Jurassic Coast Plutonic Complex

Locally, a series of at least three parallel, mineralized and silicified, fracture zones occur in an early Cretaceous granodiorite. The fractures strike east-west and dip steeply north. Mineralization consists of bornite, chalcopyrite and molybdenite with minor scheelite and powellite. Secondary minerals include malachite, limonite and minor azurite. The mineralized zones have been mapped over an area of 1440 by 330 metres.

In 1969, sampling of trenches yielded: 0.19 per cent copper with 0.19 per cent molybdenite over 9 metres from trench 1, 0.18 per cent copper with 0.11 per cent molybdenite over 24 metres in trench 2 and 0.50 per cent copper with 0.05 per cent molybdenite over 39 metres in trench 3 (Property File - Jason Explorers Ltd. [1972-10-01]: Report on Stave Lake Mining Property).

In 1970, diamond drilling yielded up to 0.130 per cent copper and 0.027 per cent molybdenite over 88.2 metres from hole no. 6 (Property File - Canex Aerial Exploration Ltd. [1970-10-01]: Final Report on Stave Lake Property - Venture 123).

In 1972, sampling of trenches yielded 0.54 per copper with 0.09 per cent molybdenite over 16.5 metres from the west trench, 0.63 per cent copper with 0.07 per cent molybdenite over 20.7 metres in the central trench and 0.24 per cent copper with 0.02 per cent molybdenite over 14.4 metres in the east trench (Property File - Jason Explorers Ltd. [1972-10-01]: Report on Stave Lake Mining Property).

In 1979, a grab sample (715) assayed 0.168 per cent copper and 0.003 per cent molybdenum, whereas a 10- metre chip sample (717) from trench 2 yielded 0.039 per cent copper and 0.036 per cent molybdenum (Property File - Esperanza Explorations Ltd. [1979-08-14]: Report on Cleaning Out of Trenches and Resampling of Trench Number 2 - KF 1-5, 7 Claims).

In 1970, an indicated resource of 247,208,000 tonnes averaging 0.051 per cent copper and 0.009 per cent molybdenite was reported (Property File - Canex Aerial Exploration Ltd. [1970-10-01]: Final Report on Stave Lake Property - Venture 123).

The occurrence was discovered in 1969. In 1970, Canex Aerial Exploration Ltd. conducted a program of trenching and seven drill holes, totalling 1113 metres. In 1972, Jason Explorers examined the property. In 1979, Esperanza Explorations examined and sampled the area.
