Capsule Geology

The Spur occurrence is located on a southwest facing ridge, approximately 2 kilometres south-southeast of Camp Lake. The area has been explored in conjunction with the Camp Lake (MINFILE 092F 571) occurrence.

The area is underlain by basaltic volcanic rocks consisting of basaltic lava, pillow lava, breccia and tuff of the Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation. These have been intruded by granodiorite, quartz diorite, granite and quartz monzonite of the Jurassic Island Plutonic Suite to the east

Locally, an area of exposed skarn contains garnetite, disseminated and massive magnetite and, quartz-calcite+/-sulphide stringers. These contain up to 8 per cent pyrite in clusters, stringers and fine- grained aggregates, up to 8 per cent disseminated magnetic pyrrhotite, up to 2.5 per cent chalcopyrite in clusters, up to 1 per cent arsenopyrite, up to 1 per cent bornite, up to 25 per cent actinolite locally, possible trace cuprite and tetrahedrite in clusters and thin massive seams parallel to foliation. Up to 25 per cent yellow and red garnet occurs locally. Grab samples from exposed outcrop on surface and from hand trenching at the showing contain 65 per cent magnetite (Assessment Report 32793).

Diamond drilling, in 2011, yielded the following intercepts.

In 2011 and early 2012, Compliance Energy Corporation completed a program of geochemical sampling and nine diamond drill holes, totalling 644 metres, on the area. Eight drill holes, totalling 565 metres, were completed to delineate the Spur occurrence.
