The CDL occurrence is located on the northern slopes of Coeur D’ Alene Creek, approximately 1.5 kilometres north of Uchuck Lake.
The area is underlain by Lower Jurassic Bonanza Group volcanics. The limestone, typically epidotized, may belong to the underlying Quatsino Formation or to beds that are known to occur in the upper part of the Karmutsen Formation; both formations belong to the Upper Triassic Vancouver Group. Argillite, slate and abundant skarn material occur as well.
Locally, three minor sulphide zones, containing primarily pyrite, occur as layered bands with in shale beds, over a 200 by 1100 metre area. These beds have been folded up along a plane striking 330 degrees to the northwest and dip between 36 and 42 degrees to the north east.
In 1998, Pros Prospecting completed a program of geological mapping and geochemical sampling. Sampling of the sulphide zones assayed up to 0.0383 per cent lead, 0.0553 per cent zinc, 0.2431 per cent arsenic, 1.7 grams per tonne silver and 0.230 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 25581).
