The Raven-TR 1 occurrence is located on N45 West Creek, a tributary of the Kennedy River, at an elevation of approximately 150 metres.
Karmutsen Formation volcanics of the Upper Triassic Vancouver Group are intruded by the Jurassic Island Intrusions consisting of granodiorite to quartz diorite. The Karmutsen rocks consist of andesitic to basaltic flows, tuffs and volcaniclastics. West- north west trending fault/shear zones of Tertiary age cut the rocks.
A series of quartz-carbonate veins, from 5 to 10 centimetres in width, are related to slightly faulted dyke margins. These andesitic dikes occur as a sub-parallel swarm hosted by Karmutsen volcanics. The veins have been traced along strike for about 60 metres. One trench sample (TR-1) contained 0.6 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 12739).
In 1984 and 1985, Jasmine Resources completed a program of geological mapping, trenching and rock sampling on the area as the Raven claim.
