Capsule Geology

A deposit of white limestone located on Lot 14, one kilometre south of Vananda on Texada Island, was quarried for stucco by T.H. Coulter. About 54.4 tonnes of limestone was quarried here in 1937.

The Coulter deposit lies within a 13 kilometre long belt of Upper Triassic Vancouver Group, Quatsino Formation limestone up to 3 kilometres wide that is preserved along the axis of a broad northwest plunging syncline.
