Sil 2 gold anomaly is located west of Poets Heights, on an unnamed creek flowing west into Fredericks Lake.
The area is underlain by a complex sequence of dark green volcanics ranging from andesites to rhyolites and belonging to the Upper Triassic to Lower Jurassic Bonanza Formation. These have been intruded by Early to Middle Jurassic Island Plutonic Suite granitic rocks. The structural trend is northwest with easterly dips.
Locally, a soil gold anomaly, 20 to 95 parts per billion gold, occurs in an area underlain by felsic volcanics (Assessment Report 14964).
In 1986, Rise Resources staked the Sil 2 claim and completed a program of geochemical sampling and a magnetometer survey.
