The Maid West occurrence is located on the western slopes of Mount Demers, approximately
The area is underlain by diorite and quartz diorite of the Paleozoic to Jurassic Westcoast Crystalline Complex and volcanic rocks of the Lower Jurassic Bonanza Group.
Locally, gossanous shear zones in pillowed and brecciated basalts host chlorite-quartz veins with pyrite, arsenopyrite, and minor chalcopyrite.
In 2011, rock and grab samples (11DMBG009 and 11DMAO008B) of mineralized vein material yielded up to 8.2 grams per tonne gold, 0.126 per cent copper, greater than 100 grams per tonne silver and greater than 1.0 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 33846).
During 2006 through 2012, the area was prospected and sampled as the Maid 1-2 claims.
