The New Discovery occurrence is located on the eastern side of Mount Demers, near the summit.
The area is underlain by diorite and quartz diorite of the Paleozoic to Jurassic Westcoast Crystalline Complex and volcanic rocks of the Lower Jurassic Bonanza Group.
Locally, areas of skarn are exposed hosting magnetite, pyrite and chalcopyrite.
In 2007, the area was prospected by R.A. Grieve as the New Discovery claim. Samples of mineralized skarn assayed up to 22.5 grams per tonne silver, 0.6 gram per tonne gold and greater than 1 per cent copper and zinc (Assessment Report 29385).
