The Dan 11 occurrence is located on the north side of Frederick Lake, approximately 2.7 kilometres south of Sarita Bay.

The area is underlain by carbonate rocks of the Upper Triassic Quatsino Formation, Vancouver Group and volcanic rocks of the Lower Jurassic Bonanza Group. These have been intruded by Early to Middle Jurassic Island Plutonic Suite granitic rocks. The structural trend is northwest with easterly dips.

Locally, volcanic rocks are faulted and sheared over a width of 0.5 to 15 metres and contain pyrite, and/or pyrrhotite and minor chalcopyrite with limonite staining.

In 1980, Rainier Energy Resources completed a program of geochemical sampling on the Dan claims. In 1989, the area was staked as the Sar 1-2 claims by W. Halleran and a geochemical sampling program was completed. One sample taken from the zone and assayed 1.2 grams per tonne gold over 1.6 metres (Assessment Report 8459).
