The Orm occurrence is located in the head waters of King Creek, approximately 7 kilometres west of Sooke.
The area is underlain by extensive outcrops of massive basaltic pillow lavas of the Eocene Metchosin Igneous Complex. These have been intruded by narrow gabbro dikes with extensive shearing and faulting.
Locally, basalts host disseminated and fracture- filling sulphide mineralization in shear zones and faults. The sulphides include magnetite, chalcopyrite and pyrite with associated serpentinite and calcite.
In 1990, the area was prospected by H.V. Amelung as the Orm claim. No samples were assayed.
