The VV showing is located in the headwaters of Chipman Creek, approximately 4.0 kilometres north of Lady A (MINFILE 092B 029) occurrence.
The showing occurs in an area underlain by a contact of the Early to Middle Jurassic Island Plutonic Suite (formerly called the Island Intrusions) and rock of the Devonian Nitinat Formation, Sicker Group.
In 1977, Imperial Oil completed a program of ground electromagnetic and magnetic geophysical surveys and geochemical sampling on the Holy, VV, YY and ZZ claims.
In 1978 and 1979, Esso Resources Canada Limited completed a diamond drilling program of six holes, totalling 448.0 metres, on the Brent, Oak and QQ claims. A single drill hole was completed in order test a magnetic anomaly on the VV claim. The hole encountered a minor amount of graphitic argillite at bedrock and then passed into a sequence of very siliceous tuffs which have been variably altered to garnet skarn. A zone of heavily altered skarn breccia was penetrated containing up to 15 per cent pyrite, pyrrhotite, minor chalcopyrite and traces of molybdenite.
A 1.7-metre drill section contained 0.117 per cent copper and 0.007 per cent molybdenite. Another section assayed 0.028 per cent copper and 0.015 per cent molybenite over 1.1 metres (Assessment Report 7323).
