The SI occurrence is located approximately 2.8 kilometres southwest of Silence Lake, on the west side of the Raft River and at an elevation of approximately 1200 metres.
The dominant rocks are intrusive un-foliated, probably Jurassic granodiorite to monzonite. These contain discrete lenses and discontinuous bands, trending north-south with dips to the west, of metasediments consisting of pelites, calc-silicates, marble and quartzite. The metasediments are probably of the Shuswap Metamorphic Complex.
Mineralization, comprising narrow lenticular bands of massive sphalerite and galena, is discontinuously exposed along a 1500 metre north-south trend. The mineralization appears associated with a calc-silicate unit adjacent to a massive white marble unit. The metasediments terminate abruptly to the south, probably due to tight folds within the granodiorite body.
In 2006, a float sample (Argent 3) assayed 147 grams per tonne silver, 13.1 per cent lead and 33.8 per cent zinc. Previous samples are reported to assay up to 16 per cent lead, 490 grams per tonne silver and greater than 30 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 29271). In 2010, chip samples taken along three bed rock showings, over a strike length of 100 metres, assayed from 13.2 to 40.5 per cent zinc and 4.75 to 12 per cent lead with 75 to 558 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 32013).
During 1979 through 1981, Cominco completed a program of silt and soil sampling, geological mapping, and prospecting on the area as the SI claims. During 2006 through 2010, the area was prospected as the Argent property.
