The Lavington showing is located 10 kilometres east of Vernon, east of Vernon Hill.

In this area, east of the Okanagan Valley fault, Upper Triassic to Lower Jurassic Nicola Group sedimentary and volcanic rocks unconformably overlie Devonian to Triassic sedimentary and volcanic rocks of the Harper Ranch Group. These units are faulted over gneissic rocks of unknown age and metasedimentary rocks of the Proterozoic Silver Creek Formation. Middle Jurassic granitic rocks cut all of the above rocks. Outliers of Eocene Kamloops Group volcanic and sedimentary rocks cap the older units.

A 180-metre thick pyritic and sericitic schist carries low grade but persistent gold mineralization. Disseminated pyrite is accompanied by quartz, chlorite, tourmaline and mariposite. The schist is probably a felsic metavolcanic unit within the Nicola Group. The unit is gradational to the southwest with graphitic argillite and to the northeast with quartz-feldspar porphyry. The schist contains gold values throughout and a 34-metre section analysed 0.5 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 20334).

In 1985, Minequest Resources Associates Ltd. outlined an area of elevated gold anomalies in the region owing to the occurrence.

In 1986, Goldquest Minerals Corp. staked the source area of the anomalies.

In 1988, Goldquest Minerals Corp. optioned the property to BP Resources Canada Ltd.

In 1988-90, BP Resources Canada Ltd. carried out soil geo- chemistry, geological mapping and drilling.

Geochemical rock sampling in 1997 (Assessment Report 26339) and 2007 (Assessment Report 29406) returned values anomalous in gold, arsenic, silver, molybdenum, mercury, iron, zinc, antimony, and bismuth. Several rock samples reported values greater than 0.1 gram per tonne gold. Geophysical surveying in 2007 (Assessment Report 30492) and 2009 (Assessment Report 31735) outlined a 1500 by 200 metre northwest trending corridor of moderate chargeability and lower resistivity coincident with strongly altered sericite schist and areas of elevated gold values in soil.

In 1999, Linda Caron and John Kemp conducted a small rock sampling program on the occurrence. Anomalous mercury values were reported coincidental with gold, silver, arsenic, and base metals.

In 2010, Leopold Lindinger conducted a small sampling program on behalf of Asher Resources Corp. The program focused on retesting areas of historical anomalies. The samples returned low to insignificant values of gold, silver, arsenic, iron, copper, and nickel. The highest grade was observed in sample 2 grading 295 parts per billion gold, and 322 parts per million chromium (Lindinger, L. (2011-10-27): Technical Report on Exploration Activities on the Lavington Gold Property).

In 2014, 3 diamond drill holes totalling 987.7 metres were completed, each successful in expanding the known gold mineralization on the property. Highlights include a 60 metre (core length) intersection averaging 0.49 gram per tonne gold (from 19 to 79 metres depth down hole) in drill hole L14-01. The Lavington main zone, encountered in drill hole L14-02, hosts 94.5 metres grading 0.227 gram per tonne gold and includes a 24.5 metre intersection grading 0.617 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 35270).
