The Mac-04 occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 1225 metres on an east-facing slope, approximately 300 metres southwest of the north end of McIntyre Lake.
The area is underlain by massive granodiorite of the Jurassic Nelson Intrusions intruded by a variety of volcanic feeder dikes.
Locally, a narrow, 6-centimetre-wide, rusty quartz vein with patchy fine pyrite and arsenopyrite(?) is associated with sericite-rich zones in a granitic host. A possible shear zone, trending 160 degrees and dipping 90 degrees has been identified in the intrusive.
Work History
The area has been explored in conjunction with the nearby Top (MINFILE 082LSE017) occurrence and a complete regional exploration history can be found there.
In 2007, TMBW International Resources Corp. completed a minor program of prospecting and geochemical (rock and silt) sampling on the Mac property. A grab sample (Mac 04-2007) from the occurrence assayed 1.93 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 29324).
