The Devil 8 occurrence is located west of Mike Creek, approximately 1.2 kilometres south of its junction with Strutell Creek.
The area is underlain by granite and granodiorite of the Jurassic Nelson Plutonic suite.
Locally, a zone of argillic-sericite altered granite hosts narrow quartz veins with limonite, calcite and pyrite.
In 2007, a rock sample (DVLR-19) assayed 1.10 grams per tonne gold, while eight other samples yielded greater than 0.1 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 29347). Later the same year, four rock samples (DVLR-197 to DVLR200) assayed from 0.20 to 0.52 gram per tonne gold and 0.7 to 8.3 grams per tonne silver, while a nearby sample of sub-crop (DVLR-203) assayed 0.107 per cent zinc and 0.49 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 29887).
Two other areas of anomalous mineralization are located approximately 2.5 kilometres to the east- north east and north- north east of the main occurrence on the Black Devil 7 and Black Devil 5 claims, respectively. The first consists of a northwest- striking narrow quartz vein in altered magnetic dike. In 2007, a rock sample (DVLR-41) assayed 12.0 grams per tonne silver and 0.44 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 29347). The second consists of a sub-crop exposure of altered granite with limonite and arsenopyrite. In 2007, two samples assayed 0.59 and 0.55 gram per tonne gold, while a float sample (179) assayed 5.04 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 29887).
In 1984, Val d’Or Explorations completed a program of rock and silt sampling and geological mapping on the area immediately to the south as the Mike 1-5 claims. During 2007 through 2009, Kootenay Gold completed programs of prospecting and geochemical sampling the area as the Devil property.
