The Kao zeolite showing is located 6.5 kilometres southeast of the confluence of Monte Creek and the South Thompson River. In 1998-1999, the claims were staked and a program of geochemical sampling was completed by J. Marlow.
The area is underlain by Triassic sediments of the Nicola group. Locally, zeolites are hosted in amygdule basalt flows of the Eocene Kamloops Group. These grade 10 to 40 per cent by weight zeolites, consisting of stilbite, heulandite, clinoptilite and mordenite (Assessment Report 25994).
