At the Little Shuswap Lake showing, quartz veinlets contain crystals of pale purple fluorite, hosted in granitic gneisses of the Ordovician Little Shuswap orthogneiss of the Mount Ida Group.

This showing is the first reported fluorspar locality in the province.
