The Niali 5 showing is located north of Tsuis Creek on the eastern shore of Mabel Lake. It was discovered, in 2004, as a part of limestone exploration on the Niali 1-5 and Kingfisher/Clifton (MINFILE 082LNE041) occurrences, located to the south.

The area is within the Precambrian-Paleozoic Monashee Complex (Group) near the eastern edge of the Shuswap Metamorphic Complex, and underlain by a sequence of quartzite, calcsilicate and pelitic gneiss, marble and amphibolite that trends generally northward and dips at various angles to the east. A pronounced foliation, essentially parallel to layering, suggests that the apparently simple homoclinal sequence that hosts the mineral occurrence is, in fact, part of a complex, isoclinally folded metasedimentary package.

Locally, gossanous material accompanying a pyrite/magnetite rich silicified zone occurs in a quartzite unit, 1 metre thick, with in a metasedimentary sequence.

In 2004, two samples were collected from the zone returning up to 7870 parts per million zinc, 1310 parts per million lead and 2.9 parts per million silver (Assessment Report 27433).
