The Emerald Queen property is located on the east-facing slope of Mount Begbie, to the north of Mulvehill Creek, at elevations ranging from 690 metres to 1590 metres.
The area is underlain by schists of the Precambrian–-Paleozoic (?) Monashee Complex (Group). Locally, black, green and red varieties of tourmaline and emerald type beryls occur in pegmatite dikes as seen at the Mount Begbie occurrence (MINFILE 082LNE015).
In 2009, seventeen random specimens were collected, several of which held quartz in varying states of crystallization. One sample contained a cluster of large deep red garnets in schist, while the others are comprised of schorlite, peridote and other small unidentified crystals within pegmatite hosts (Assessment Report 30504).
