The Fat Cat showing is located on the western side of Doctor Creek at an elevation of 2400 metres, approximately 26.5 kilometres south west of Canal Flats. In 1996-1997, the showing was staked under the Fat Cat claims by Alcuda Capital Inc. and a program of geochemical sampling and geological mapping was completed.

Regionally, the property is underlain by quartz monzonite of the White Creek batholith and sediments of the Proterozoic Aldridge Formation. The Aldridge Formation grades upward over 300 metres through a sequence of carbonaceous mudstone with minor beds of grey and green mudstone and fine-grained quartz wacke.

Locally, there is a 10 to 15 metre thick unit, recognized as the Lower–Middle Aldridge contact.

In 1996, a sample of laminated, bleached quartzite containing 2 per cent fine-grained disseminated pyrite returned 1.04 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 25524).
