The Pollman Creek showing area is underlain by northwest striking Cambrian to Devonian Lardeau Group metasediments flanked by younger sediments of the Upper Mississippian to Permian Milford Formation. Black phyllites of the Lardeau Group are the predominant lithology.
In the area of the showing a sequence of phyllite, greenstone, chlorite schist and dolomite is intruded by quartz monzonite. Minor sporadic galena with very coarse pyrite occurs in a white, 5 to 12 centimetre wide quartz vein that strikes 040 degrees and dips 15 degrees northwest. The quartz monzonite wallrock is unaltered.
In May 1979 the claims were optioned by AMAX of Canada Ltd. from JOA Resources Ltd. AMAX conducted geological mapping and soil and stream sediment sampling during the period June to August, 1979.
